Catherine Hannon, Head of Public Affairs and Sustainability, Calor Ireland
Catherine has over twenty years’ experience working in the manufacturing, technology and energy sectors in a variety of business management roles. She is a European languages and international marketing graduate and holds the Public Relations Institute of Ireland (PRII) Diploma in Public Relations.
Catherine leads Calor’s public affairs and ESG strategy, advocating for the unique needs of rural homes and businesses in the development of Ireland, Northern Ireland and EU energy and climate policy. She is founder and Chair of the Public Affairs Working Group at Liquid Gas Ireland since 2019, leading and collaborating on the sector’s advocacy and engagement strategy on the role of liquid and renewable liquid gas in Ireland’s energy transition.
For almost 90 years, Calor has ensured that homes and businesses across Ireland – and particularly rural Ireland – have had access to clean, reliable, lower carbon energy, regardless of location. Calor’s purpose is to drive Ireland’s energy transition and create a sustainable future for generations to come. With the launch of a certified renewable liquid gas (BioLPG) in 2018, the company demonstrated its commitment to playing an active role in Ireland’s transition to a decarbonised economy.
Working with Calor’s Sustainability Steering Committee and ESG leaders’ team, Catherine led the company’s achievement of the coveted Business Working Responsibly Mark in 2020, Ireland’s Environmental, Economic, Social and Governance (EESG) standard. Business Working Responsibly Mark | NSAI
Catherine is a Steering Committee Member of the Responsible Business Association, which represents the 40+ Irish companies who have achieved the Business Working Responsibly Mark. The Association is a collective movement for transformative change to environmentally and socially responsible business models, focusing on leadership, knowledge sharing and achieving sustainable impact.
